This lady’s life has been hell, for all her talents as a healer.
It starts off as an initial skirmish, its “frowned upon to attack chirugeons and healers on the battlefield” but that doesn’t mean its strictly a war crime to do so, and Bozja is desperate enough that they’re just “she needs to GO”
Ciel charges at her, and she tries to get all her comrades to retreat. Given the course to back off lest she be forced to cut her down. Later, they try to set up camp to recuperate when they encounter Ciel again, charging like a raging storm and before she knows it, all her friends are dead, and she crawls away within an inch of her life, cursing her name all the while.
As the sole survivor of her detachment, she’s reassigned to the beastmasters with Lyon, looking only to get revenge at this point but is unable to on her own.
Her dreams of a land of equals dashed, granted, she was fed such lofty ideals at a young and impressionable age, as one of the many starving children the 4th Legion’s social programs saved from homelessness. She really cannot understand why you fight against her, though its more likely she doesn’t know the atrocities committed in part by the 4th legion itself.
But all there is in her dying moments is the thought of joining her friends, and her hatred for you.
Thus, she is resurrected as a remnant, but as Dyunbu the Accursed by Shemhazai, Llofii pyr Potitus (renewed as Llofii the Forthright, though Potitus is a common Miqo’te surname in Garlean territories), her former compatriot turned ally to the Resistance, can only look on in horror with what they’ve done to her.

Since their surnames have been changed to Potitus, I wonder if Seekers of the Sun under Imperial rule/citizenship are required to drop the tribal letter and the apostrophe, or just the apostrophe. For example when they register for the military, they ask the name and instead of adding the apostrophe, they write the name as they hear it.
In that case, Llofii pyr Potitus' tribal name might have been L'lofii, ie. Lofii of the Viper Tribe, and Dyunbu pyr Potitus' would be D'yunbu ie. Yunbur of the Dodo Tribe.
Another option would be that they removed the tribal letter, of course, which in and of itself would make for interesting story because, as far as I know, with the exceptions of NPCs with Seeker models but Keeper names, we have yet to meet Seekers of the Sun that have integrated so much into a different culture/society that they let go of their tribal letter.
Of course, the third option is that Miqo'te in Ilsabard do not have tribal letters at all. To be honest, I find this more likely, even though it is the option I like the least. We saw in Hingashi and Doma that Roegadyn and Hyur there have Japanese-inspired names due to geographicall culture. The same in Thavnair with the Hyur and Au Ra (plus maybe Matanga?) there. I think XIV prefers lore/names/culture based on geography, and have the races be as randomly generated as possible, so that the only thing that matters is geography. Which is fine and all, but the naming cultures, and generall lore for the various races are so fascinating and so rarely used that I always get a little disappointed when it is ignored.
We've seen seeker NPCs in Bozja right? Anyone know the tribe? Asking for a friend...

For the WIP ask game: I may be horrendously biased, but "FF14 - IVth Llofii soldiers" sounds super interesting!
42. FF14 - IVth Llofii soldiers
I love this one! This fic is set both shortly pre-game and right after some of the events in Bozja and centers around Llofii, exploring the potential of her having one-sided affection for Dyunbu, and a friendship with Hernais, based around her dialogue in 'From Beyond the Grave'. It lives in the same 'verse as the other IVth Legion fics I've done, so Hernais's characterization is brought forward from there. I really want to finish this one sometime; it's about 2.5k so far, but has a long ways left to go.
**********
The beastmasters are frightening to her, made no better by the gossip on the tongue of every mage. Albeleo disdains them; Fabineau scorns the entirety of the War Beasts as no better than disposable fodder. Sartauvoir only groans affectionately and shakes his head whenever the matter comes up -- there is history between him and the other veterans of the IVth, particularly those handpicked by the first Gabranth, of whom Lyon is included. There are stories. Nudity is often involved.
All of them agree that the IVth’s beastmasters are as temperamental as animals themselves.
Llofii has never seen anything first-hand that rates worse than bluster, the same sort of shoulder pushing that happens even between mages in her division: various authorities wanting to be heard, but aware that they still need to accomplish the task assigned to them by the end of the day. But when Albeleo and the rest of the higher ranks are gone, she cannot help but be intimidated by the beastmasters which remain. They stride through the Castrum's halls with confidence, chins up and eyes forward. Each one is a predator smoothly gliding through the waters, eternally on the hunt. She feels Clarricie's eyes lingering on her long after the woman herself has passed, making part of her quiver like some kind of prey-animal, scuttling from doorway to doorway in hopes of avoiding detection; the sharpness of Pagaga's grin makes Llofii want to touch her neck protectively, instincts warning her to safeguard the soft, vulnerable flesh.
They all make her feel this way -- all except for Hernais. He shows her pictures of his husband, three small paintings no bigger than the palm of his hand, tucked inside the lid of the regulation pocketwatch he keeps on his belt. Each page is deeply creased from how often he has unfolded and refolded them again, taking them out to gaze at routinely. In one, there is the image of his little girl, sitting primly between Hernais and his husband with her hair arrayed in pigtails.
"At the rate she's growing, I'll be able to teach her how to ride a chocobo soon," he says proudly one afternoon, when the sun is hot on them both. "After Bozja has been quelled, and I can next visit home."
The paintings are of fine enough quality that they must have cost him two month's wages. Despite that, Hernais does not hoard them away. Llofii ducks her head; there is nothing she owns which can compare. Her personal spellbooks have no formulas that have not already been submitted to the Legion for inclusion in the imperial libraries. The only thing precious to her is her rank, and even that pride is dimming by the day.
"Would you keep fighting? If we didn't have to do this anymore," she hastens to elaborate, before he can think her a coward. "Wouldn't you want to go home and just... never come back?"

"I've heard tell that the Goro tribe are experts in horse-rearing. Do you think we'll have time to visit them and--"
"They're horsewives, Llofii. We are not visiting the horsewives."
"--okay! Point taken!"
